Captain Tom Franklin - Ante Up Reno
Captain Tom Franklin is the tournament short-stack with 20 players left in the $50k GTD $400. He manages a double to get to 35,000, then doubles again through Jed Hoffman (A8 > KQ) to have a wee bit o’ breathing room.
Paul Morris moves in the next hand and Franklin goes for his third double in four hands.
Queens for Morris, Franklin did as he did with Hoffman, seeing an Ace and calling – his kicker is a Ten.
Ace in the window, no Queens, and Franklin’s 72,000 is more than the 68,000 of Morris.
Morris is out in 20th place for $700. Franklin goes from2BB to 150,000 in four hands.
