That’s an amazing local-player resume for most anyone, anywhere, amirite?

Well, that’s just the recent Reno side of Loren Klein’s poker tournament resume. Then there’s the WSOP mixed-game dominance for the player at Table 7, seat 2 today in the $200,000 GTD $1,100 Ante Up Reno Main Event.

Klein opened up the 2019 WSOP with a 4th -place finish in Event 2, the $10k Super Turbo Bounty for a $100k score. This sent notice throughout the poker community Klein was focused on a much bigger goal, a TexDolly-sized one.

Klein earned a WSOP bracelet in 2016 – $1500 LH/PLO Mix – 2017 – $1500 PLO – and 2018 – $10k PLO – becoming one of only a small handful to win a bracelet in three consecutive years.

The goal was to become the first player since Doyle Brunson in 1976-79 to win a WSOP bracelet in four consecutive years.

He was right back in the mix two days later in Event 20, the $2500 Limit Mixed Triple Draw, finishing 20th. Two more cashes and it was time for the $2,500 Mixed Big Bet.

The final 11 in the event was LOADED, with the likes of David Benyamine (11th) Ray Henson (9th) and Mike Sexton (7th) . The final table stream has Klein 6/6 with Joey Couden, Phil Hui and Ryan Hughes in the mix.

Klein worked his way through the final table, defeating Hughes heads-up and claiming the title no player had owned for 40 years.

2020 is going to be the run for 5-in-5 for Klein.
