The Turlock Poker Room 15th Anniversary Championship Series $550 Main Event kicks off tomorrow at 11am. There’s three starting flights – Thursday, Friday and Saturday, all 11am starts – in this Best Stack Forward tournament, with the Day 2 Final beginning Sunday at 11am.
Players open with a 25,000 stack and play 40-minute levels the entire tournament. Registration and the unlimited-entry period for each starting flight is available until the start of Level 10 at 5:35pm.
Day 1 wraps up for each flight at 7:35pm when Level 12 is complete. Survive 12 levels and advance your stack to Sunday’s 11am Day 2 Final.
Best Stack Forward means you can survive Thursday’s Day 1A and still play Friday’s Day 1B and/or Saturday’s Day 1C to try and earn a bigger bag o’ chippies. Same for Friday if you play and Bag-A-Stack, you can also play Saturday.
There’s late registration value in this tournament, for the blinds to start Level 10 is 400/800, so you start with 31BB and play just two hours before earning a Day2Bag.
You will not be in the money at the end of Day 1 and probably not for the first 2-3 hours of play on Sunday either. I’m guessing a Level 17 money bubble, but I do promise the tournament ends Sunday, there’s no ‘come back on Monday to finish.’
Cash in the tournament and earn points toward the Series Champion title, one of the best player-of-the-series awards at any poker room in the country. The overall Series Champion earns one complimentary entry in to EVERY Turlock Poker Room tournament from July 1 until the end of 2019.
