The Centennial State’s flagship quarterly tournament series, the Bally’s Black Hawk Colorado Poker Championship, began its 62-event schedule on February 21. Its $1,200 Main Event – Thursday, March 7 through Sunday, March 10, – features starting flights from Thursday through Saturday, with a $200,000 guarantee.

February’s opening weekend $400 Kick Off event drew a record 799 entries and resulted in a three-way chop between Danny Gonzales ($41,788), Glen Coblentz ($32,646) and Zach Gutierrez ($32,000).

Of course, one of the best features of the CPC is its series-long points leaderboard. The top 10 finishers on the leaderboard earn seats to the $2,500 High Roller on March 16, and the outright winner gets an additional $10,000 in cash.

As of this publishing, Gutierrez now sits third in points with 95, and Gonzalez is second with 120. Son Nguyen, who took sixth in the Kick Off, leads everybody with 125 points after adding two more top-four scores this week. (Spoiler alert: Nguyen’s family restaurant, Zomo, will be featured in the Main Event coverage found right here in the Ballys Black Hawk Live Updates Section on PokerLiveUpdates.com.)

The series has two weeks left on the docket, with plenty of exciting tournaments to look forward to. Some highlights are below, and you can click here to find the full schedule.
