Covarrubias Eliminates 2, Closes in on Points Lead

David Covarrubias – needing a 2nd place finish or better in tonight’s $230 Mexican Poker to take over the Series Champion lead – eliminates two players in a single hand to send the tournament to the money bubble.

Four players remain, three cash and Covarrubias is going to be three points behind current leader Federico Ayala if he finishes 3rd. He’s the chipleader right now, so the points are going to matter a great deal to him as the final eliminations take place.
