Spenser Cramer – With $5,822 in career poker tournament earnings – held off a final table that included players with a combined $9.4 million in earnings to win the first-ever Heartland Poker Tour Main Event held at Hollywood Columbus Casino in Ohio.
Cramer defeated Ryan Wince heads-up in the $500,000 Guaranteed $1650 Main Event to earn $195k including a $3500 HPT Championship package. The final table included former WPT champ Kevin Eyster and two WSOP bracelet winners in Adam Friedman and Joey Couden.
The 588-entry field – including a 328-entry final flight – was an excellent showing for a new property hosting a HPT main event. Since the property and the HPT are both now owned by Penn Gaming, I expect to see HPT back at this location many times.
