He had a sweat until down to heads-up in the Main Event, but David Covarrubias holds on to win the Series Champion title in the Turlock Poker Room 15th Anniversary Championship Series.

Justin Moore’s longshot bid to capture the title falls just a bit short as he’s eliminated in third place by Jose Esparza in the Main Event, Moore cashing for $12,053 and finishing 3rd with 216 points. Federico Ayala took 2nd with 227 points.

Covarrubias went 1-2-3 as he won the $230 Mexican Poker, took 2nd in the Event 2 $150 BB Ante and was 3rd in Event 1’s $125 with $25 Bounties to gain his 250 points. He busted just short of the money in the main event and had to sweat a handful of players who had a chance to pass his on the last day of the series.

For his win, Covarrubias earns one complimentary entry in to every Turlock Poker Room tournament from July 1 through the end of November 2019, along with the trophy and backpack, plus a photo shoot is going to take place so his Championship banner hangs in the poker room.
