Social media posts from former staff and more claim management of the Lodge Card Club in Austin, TX, – raided earlier this month by state authorities – terminated all staff today while also indicating its county’s District Attorney offered the opinion is the business is not operating legally.
“Well, management has officially announced that the Williamson County DA office has made clear to their attorneys that The Lodge’s current business model does not comply with Texas law,” former staffer Alisa Stansbury distributed publicly today as a Facebook post.
Poker Fraud Alert podcast host Todd Witteles followed up that with a list of his claims.
“Lodge attorneys have stated it would be unwise for the club to reopen until this matter is resolved, especially because another seizure could otherwise occur. – Closure is likely to be for months, at minimum,” posted Witteles from his Twix account.
Social media posts are going up rapidly from onetime Lodge employees espressing gratitude for those they worked with and sadness their jobs have come to an end, at least for the foreseeable future.
We’re monitoring social media and have calls out to both business, county and state officials for comment, we’ll update this as the day goes along.
