First it was Tahoe Andrew, then Layne Flack. Should today go well for Qing Liu, well, there’s a new Back-to-Back in the poker world.

Liu took down the WPT Venetian title yesterday, holding off Joe McKeehan heads-up for the victory and the $752,880 payday. Less than 24 hours later and Liu is at another WPT final table, wrapping up the 2020 WPT Gardens Poker Championship. He begins play this afternoon 5/6 with 32bb.

Tahoe, who passed away earlier this year at age 86, won WSOP bracelets in $1,000 and $2,500 events on back-to-back days in 1976 – those bracelets believed to be the oldest in existence that can be traced back to its original owner.

Flack earned his Back-to-Back nickname in 1999, winning consecutive $330 Legends of Poker preliminary events at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles.

Liu, with more than $1.025 million earned at Venetian since the pandemic, can lay claim to the Back-to-Back title and an additional $554,495 should he win today in the PokerGo studio.
