Thomas Phillips took the chiplead in the 15th Anniversary Championship Series $550 Main Event, and then it all went bad.
Phillips called a 384,000 all-in from Nate Bolinger – 35% of Phillips’ stack – with AJhh and was no good to the AKdd of Bolinger.
One hand later he mixes it up with the new chipleader, Jose Esparza (pictured), and the remaining 680,000 of Phillips’ stack is drawing dead on the turn. Esparza moves to a 1,600,000 stack – a full 2x more than Bolinger in 2nd.
From chipleader to a 13th-place cash ($1,600) in just two hands.
