Richard Turnbull, 86, the oldest dealer at the 2013 World Series of Poker, died Thursday night after being struck by a car while walking in Las Vegas.

Turnbull, from Reno, was honored at last year’s WSOP when he was the person selected to give the traditional “Shuffle Up and Deal,” to kick off the series in the casino employees event.

Turnbull was a regular dealer during poker tournaments at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, where the HoldemRadio team had the pleasure many times of playing at his table and enjoying many conversations with him away from the felt.
