July 8 -31 dates
The RunGood Poker Series hosted by the Thunder Valley Poker Room for The Last Kilometer of the Checkpoint runs now through July 31. Satellites have been running since July 8, and the real action kicked off on Thursday, July 13 with the Day 1A and 1B flights of the $400 buy-in Monolith no-limit hold’em tournament ($250,000 guaranteed prize pool). The Monolith offers starting flights through Saturday, July 15, with Day 2 crowning a winner to close out the weekend on Sunday, July 16.
The tournament series features a total of 17 events, and there are two highlights that everyone is focused on this July in Northern California. Follow our daily tournament updates on the TVPokerRoom Blog.
The first of those events is the inuagural $600 buy-in Mid-Major Championship presented by The Hendon Mob starting on July 20. The tournament has a guaranteed prize pool of $500,000, and a total of five starting flights offered July 20-22, with the final day of the tournament taking place on July 23.
Everything leads up to the $1 million guaranteed RunGood Poker Series Checkpoint Million Dollar Main kicking off on July 28 for Day 1A with a buy-in of $2,500. Day 1B follows on July 29 to give players another shot to enter. Day 2 plays out on July 30, and players lucky enough to advance to the final day of the main event return on Monday, July 31 to decide the most prestigious title of the tournament series. The winner is also awarded a RunGood Poker Series Dream Seat entry.
There are many other tournaments and forms of poker offered on this creative series schedule as well. In addition to the many no-limit hold’em offerings, tournaments spread pot-limit Omaha, Omaha 8OB, HEROS mix event, and the RunGood Over the Top 1v1 heads-up event. There are also bounty events on the schedule, and a WPT World Championship satellite with $10,400 seats in the popular December event in Las Vegas up for grabs.
Thunder Valley Casino Resort is in Lincoln, California on the outskirts of Sacramento, and it is a short distance from Lake Tahoe as well. That gives players many recreation options during their downtime away from the felt, whether they’re looking to play in the city or the mountains. Nearby Jackrabbit Brewing from Sacramento is making a special release beer for the RunGood tournament series, but more on that later.
