The poker community lost one of its most colorful characters two weeks ago when Cary Marshall passed away. Always willing to keep the action going at the tables, the conversations as lively as the flying of chips, Cary was a great deal of fun to be around.

Often with his pal Tahoe along on his adventures, his life trail and his poker trail was wide wand well-traveled. Cary’s tournament travels and cashes took him from Reno to Pendelton, OR. to Tunica, MS to Berlin, Germany and back. At each stop, Cary left a lasting impression of a person who enjoyed every day, every hand, every beer, every laugh and every chance to bluff you off your hand.

Cary’s lifetime poker-tournament earnings was just shy of $1,000,000, with his career-best cash turning out to be his final one as he finished 3rd in the 2019 WSOP Super Seniors for a $162,536 payday.

His first major win was out in this region in 2012 when he won the WSOP Circuit Main Event at Harvey’s Lake Tahoe for $139,260.

You left one hell of a great impression, my friend, on everyone you crossed paths with. Many at today’s WSPS $200 Seniors – the Inaugural Cary Marshall Memorial Tournament, are remembering you and they are all smiling as they share their stories.
