The 10-event Turlock Poker Room 15th Anniversary Semi-Annual Championship Series wrapped up with Brent Parise picking up pocket Aces on the final hand to defeat Rick Peterson and win the $550 Main Event.

Parise earned $24,831 for defeating the 212-entry Main Event field that created a prize pool of more than $100,000. Peterson took home $17,407 as runner-up. Brandi Boehme $11,187) finished 3rd, followed by Peunh Farias ($8,287) in 4th. Last May’s Main Event winner, Jose Esparza, finished 5th ($6,221).

With his 16th-place finish, David Covarrubias defended his title from earlier this year, becoming the first player to even win back-to-back Championship series Player of the Series titles. Covarrubias earns a complimentary entry to every Turlock Poker Room tournament from Dec. 1 through May 30, 2020. The Player of the Series race is always an entertaining one, and this series was no exception, with seven players still able to earn the title going in to the Main Event. Covarrubias earned the title by just one point over Ken Kajioka.

The series kicked off last weekend with Pradip Singh ($1,852) winning the $125 NLH w/$25 Bounties, followed with Lucas Hinde – 6th in the Main Event – earning the victory in the $150 NLH Event 2 for $3,000. Cris Dingle ($2,006) won Event 3 – $230 NLH w/$100 Bounties, and Charles Schlinger ($2,631) earned the win in the Veteran’s Day $125 NLH.

Turlock Poker Room sounds like a big home game each time the $40 All In Or Fold with $10 Bounties is offered. Frank Coehlo ($651) defeated the 105-entry field, while Singh earned his second win of the series in Event 7 – $115 NLH w/$50 Bounties – for $1,123.

Covarrubias won both Wednesday tournaments, the $125 Omaha 8 ($1,065) Event 8 and the $125 Mexican Poker ($480) Event 9 to move to 2nd in the Player of the Series race, leading to his one-point win over Kajioka after the Main Event wrapped up.
