Antonio Vargas simply owns recent Main Event competitions at Bally‘s Black Hawk in Colorado, taking his fourth overall major title there in the last 22 months, with three outright wins and one three-way chop.
Yesterday, Vargas outlasted Faraz Jaka to win the $200,000 Guarantee $1,200 Spring 2026 Colorado Poker Championship, earning the top prize of $82,040, Jaka collecting $50,875 as runner-up.
Vargas began his run of Black Hawk Majors by winning the July 2025 MSPT Main Event for $141,255 in an ICM chop. He then won his first CPC Main Event, earning $73,090 in the September 2025 CPC Main Event. Two months later, Vargas is part of an even chop with Michael Giardina for the November 2025 CPC Main Event title.
“I’m ready for the WSOP, I’m dialed in. It was a great event,” Vargas said to Paul Oresteen of Poker Live Updates after defeating Jaka heads up yesterday. “It feels great to beat the best. Jaka is the best player here, and to be able to play with the best gives me confidence. I have a lot of respect for Jaka’s game.”
Vargas now has more than $800,000 of his $1.29 million in career tournament cashes just at Bally’s Black Hawk – sitting No. 3 on the poker room’s career earnings list behind Colorado poker legend Danny Gonzales and Danny Gutierrez.
