We’re taking partial credit here – just like Allen Kessler did – for Nick Pupillo‘s win at the WSOP Circuit Main Event at Thunder Valley.
Pupillo earned $170 while defeated a field of 528 entries to take home the inaugural WSOP Circuit Thunder Valley Main Event title, just a few days after racking up $217k in the WPT Borgata $600 kickoff (yeah, $217k in a $600 buyin, and that was for 2nd, whoa).
I called the win for Pupillo with 35 players left, taking Cleveland Dann Turner as my other potential champ with Jed Hoffman my 3-slot pick. Pupillo took the title, defeating Turner heads-up, while Hoffman grabbed 5th place. I may need a new job title as official poker handicapper, but that’s another story.
Having ‘Home Field Advantage,’ helped as well, being the in-house live updates reporter for Thunder Valley, Peppermill and HPT, I’ve seen these players compete often the last 5 years.
