New for 2026 is a mandate from the World Series of Poker that all players worldwide must register and verify a WSOP + account in order to buy in and play any WSOP Circuit tournament or satellite.
The entire process takes about two minutes to complete, but take our advice and do NOT wait until you are in line to buy into a tournament to start the process!
Here’s how to get your account and be prepared to play circuit events.
Download the WSOP + App – yes, this is mandatory, for your tournament receipt is on the App, not printed out.
Open the App and click ‘Sign up’ to establish an account using your email and creating a password. You’ll be asked to enter your password twice while registering. Once you do this, you’ll be emailed a Verification Code. Go back to the App and enter the code.
Now the App refreshes and lets you ‘Sign In,’ with the email and password you selected for yourself. You’ll be asked to create a Nickname and select an Avatar (this is not relevant in the US but for the few states where WSOP.com is allowed, but everyone must do this step) and the first part of registration is complete.
Next, the verification process, and let’s use the circuit series starting Thursday at Thunder Valley’s TVPokerRoom for the example.
Click on the Thunder Valley series and you’ll see your selected avatar in the upper right corner. Next to the avatar it says ‘verification’ and likely 0/1 or 0/2.
Click here and complete the Mobile Verification steps of taking a photo of both the front and back of your Driver’s License, ID Card or Passport. Once that is done, the App takes a selfie of you and completes the verification.
That’s it, you’re permanently and forever done with WSOP verification, and you can now buy in.
