The May 2025 Colorado Poker Championship $1,200 Main Event drew 302 entries and generated a prize pool of $309,560 over three starting flights. Fifty-five returned to play down to a winner on Sunday and Hunter Cichy became the last man standing after more than 12 hours of play, earning $71,197 for his victory.
Cichy came into Day 2 with an above-average stack and continued to climb as the field shrank. He remained above average and began to catch heat during the final two tables, knocking out two players before making the final table.
He entered the final table still above average but fifth in chips. Then, he claimed two of the first three knockouts at the final table and became the chip leader. He never looked back, winning pots without showdown to grow his chip lead, and winning pots at showdown to knock out four of the five remaining players.
