Shawn Daniels, Team Pro for 2 Pair Magainze, takes down the title in the inaugural 2 Pair Poker Tour Main Event at the 500 Club Casino in Clovis, CA, just outside Fresno and a block away from Fresno State university.

Daniels started the day just below starting stack, said he ran rough early on but was going strong when the 10-handed final table began. Daniels was joined at the final table by 2 Pair Team Pro Mimi Luu, along with 8 others including $40 satellite qualifier Sreve Goldstein.

Goldstein, who held a top-5 chipstack to start the day, was strong consistently. When final table play began, both he and Daniels were the most active players.

After Rudy Garcia busted in third place, Daniels and Goldstein were heads-up and were almost even in chips, each with more than 1 million in front of them. Heads-up play ran for nearly three hours.

Goldstein made the first 4-bet of the heads-up match, only to see Daniels go over-the-top all in. Goldstein tossed his hands up and said “I have to call,” as he turned up AhKh, with Daniels turning up AA. T

The flop of 4h6hQs have a flush draw for Daniels to sweat. The Js gave additional outs as Goldstein now had a broadway draw. A Kc on the river meant Daniels would be the first-ever 2 Pair Poker Tour Main Event champ, earning $12,700, as Goldstein turned his $40 satellite win into a $7,925 cash.
